PMDD Counselling & Coaching

Specialist support for women navigating PMDD, hormonal sensitivity, autism, ADHD and the emotional impact of living with a cyclical condition.

PMDD can affect far more than your mood. It can change how you experience yourself, your relationships, parenting, work and everyday life. During certain phases of your cycle, you may experience overwhelming anxiety, rage, intrusive thoughts, depression, sensory overload, rejection sensitivity, hopelessness or a feeling that you have suddenly become a completely different person.

Then your hormones shift — and you may be left trying to make sense of what happened.

My PMDD counselling and coaching offers a compassionate space where you don’t have to continually explain or justify the intensity of what you’re experiencing.

A Neurodivergence-Informed Approach

I have a particular interest in the intersection between PMDD, autism and ADHD.

For neurodivergent women, hormonal fluctuations can intensify existing difficulties with emotional regulation, executive functioning, sensory processing, overwhelm and relationships. Many women reach adulthood having spent years believing they are simply “too sensitive”, unstable or unable to cope, when there may be much more happening underneath.

Our work can include understanding your individual cycle and patterns, recognising triggers and early warning signs, developing strategies for the difficult phases of your cycle, reducing shame and self-criticism, navigating relationships and parenting, exploring identity following a late neurodivergent diagnosis, building boundaries and self-advocacy, and creating a life that works with your nervous system rather than constantly fighting against it.

Counselling + Practical Coaching

My approach combines the reflective depth of counselling with practical coaching.

Sometimes you need space to explore trauma, grief, identity and the emotional consequences of what you have lived through.

At other times you need practical strategies: What can I change? What support do I need? How do I prepare for my luteal phase? How do I communicate this to my partner or family? How can I make my life more manageable?

We can work with both.

Lived Experience Matters

Alongside my professional experience as a therapist and coach, my work is informed by my own lived experience of PMDD, late-diagnosed autism and ADHD and navigating hormonal changes across different stages of life.

I understand how confusing it can be when hormones, neurodivergence, trauma and mental health become intertwined — particularly when you have spent years searching for an explanation.

This is not about teaching you to tolerate an unbearable life.

It is about helping you understand yourself, recognise your needs, advocate for appropriate support and develop tools that genuinely work for your brain, body and circumstances.

You Don’t Have to Navigate PMDD Alone

Whether you have a formal PMDD diagnosis, suspect you may have PMDD, are experiencing perimenopausal hormonal changes, or are trying to understand why your autism or ADHD seems to become dramatically harder at particular points in your cycle, you are welcome.

One-to-one PMDD counselling and coaching sessions are available.

Please note: counselling and coaching does not replace medical assessment or treatment. I can support you emotionally and practically alongside care from your GP, psychiatrist, gynaecologist or menopause/PMDD specialist.
